ROMEO AND JULIET
All over the years, the tragic love story between Juliet Capulet and Romeo Montague has inspired many film directors (Franco Zefirelli, Baz Lurmann)but also choreographers and composers (Sergei Prokofiev - Hector Berlioz). Famous musicians such as Lou Reed, Bruce Springsteen and Dire Straits were also inspired by this tragedy. Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story is a musical theater adaptation.

William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet was released in 1996, starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Claire Danes. It was directed by the famous Australian film director Baz Lurhmann and belongs to the Red Curtain Trilogy, Strictly Ballroom and Moulin Rouge being the two other movies of the trilogy.

Romeo + Juliet : the first meet
The scene takes place at the Capulet Mansion. During the ball, Juliet is introduced to Prince Paris, a nobleman her parents want her to marry. But Juliet also meets Romeo, the son of the Montague's family and it is love at first sight.
Romeo + Juliet : the Balcony Scene.
During this passage, Juliet declares her love to Romeo at the window and he happens to hear her. Because of the hostile situation between their parents, Romeo and Juliet are not allowed to meet and to talk to each other. This moment, at night, is a timeless moment for them and they decide to marry secretly and to flee the city of Verona.
