The famous R&B and soul writer Ben E King was born in 1938 in North Carolina and died on April 30th 2015. He belonged to a band named the Drifters. He was best known as the singer and composer of a song entitled Stand By Me. It was released in 1961.
The song is easily recognizable thanks to its repetitive bass pattern that goes all along the song. Many singers recorded different versions of the song such as John Lennon, Ottis Redding, Seal and the French singer Damien Saez. There are also French and Italian versions of the song thanks to Dalida and Adriano Celetano
There is even a Bachata version of the song by Prince Royce...
