THE NATIONAL GALLERY
The National Gallery is an art museum situated in Trafalgar Square in London. It was founded in 1824 and houses a large collection of 2,300 paintings from all around the world. It is the fourth most visited art museum in the world after the Musée du Louvres, the British Museum and the Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art).
The most famous paintings you can see there are:
- Van Eck, The Arnolfini Portrait (1434)
- Leonardo Da Vinci - Virgin of the Rocks (1503-1506) and The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne and Saint John the Baptist (1499- 1508)
- Titian - Bacchus and Ariadne (1522-23)
- Holbein - The Ambassadors (1533)
- Veronese - The Family of Darius before Alexander (1565-1570)
- Turner - The Fighting Téméraire tugged to her last Berth to be Broken (1839)
- Van Gogh - Sunflowers(1888)
- Rousseau - Tiger in a Tropical Storm (1891)
- Monet - Water-Lily Pond (1899)
